Overview

St Helena Island is a small island covering only 10km in width and 8km in length. This beautiful island is extraordinarily diverse and have so much to offer. Of volcanic origin, St Helena has a volcanic landscape and offers many interesting rock features.

St Helena's boasts many unique flora and fauna species found nowhere else on earth. The island is also a hikers paradise with a choice of over 20 scenic walking and hiking trails. The clear waters around St Helena are rich in marine life and you can, if you dare, swim with the whale sharks, an incredible experience. On this tour you will enjoy a Wirebird tour and visit to the Millennium Forest, a 4x4 adventure tour into the lush green countryside and volcanic rock.

DAY 1: JOHANNESBURG - ST HELENA ISLAND

09h00 - Depart OR Tambo International Airport
13h15 - Arrive St Helena Island Airport

DAY 2: ST HELENA ISLAND

09:30 - Full day guided tour of the Island of all the prominent attractions and scenery, including the Boer, East India Company and Slave Legacies. Experience the lush scenery around the island. Heritage attractions on route are: High Knoll Fort, the Boer Cemetery, St Paul’s Cathedral, Prince’s Lodge and Deadwood Plain.

DAY 3: ST HELENA ISLAND

Wirebird tour and millennium forest visit - Join the St Helena National Trust on a tour to see St Helena’s endemic Wirebird in their natural habitat. Following this, visit the Millennium Forest where over 10,000 Gumwood trees have been planted as a conservation initiative to mark the millennium. Visitors also have the opportunity to plant their very own Gumwood tree.

DAY 4: ST HELENA ISLAND

Full day 4 x4 adventure tour - This full day guided 4WD excursion explores the wild side of St Helena. Enjoy up close and personal immersion into the island's incredible landscapes, from sheer volcanic rock formations to lush green countryside. Lunch is included for the day.

DAY 6: ST HELENA ISLAND

Guided walk to Diana’s Peak - A very popular walk with interesting and unique ecology. Diana’s Peak is the highest peak on St Helena at 2700 ft (823 m) providing stunning 360° views around the Island on a clear day. Day at leisure to participate in any of the activities or excursions offered on the island.
